Are there facilities for my children?

We are delighted that children are very much part of the family of God and our parishes.

St Pius X has a fabulous area for lively newborns and toddlers who just want to wander around, be noisy and play! However we do only encourage you to use this in extreme circumstances. Most times it is the parents, not the people around them, who feel children are causing disruption. If needs must, large windows provide good sight into the church and the sound system means you don't miss out on hearing the Mass. There is a baby changing mat in the disabled toilet area.

We sincerely hope that one day soon we will be able to hold our Children's Liturgy of the Word for those in school years reception to Year 2. The children get really excited about bringing their 'work' back.

The parishes get together for the Holy Communion and Confirmation Preparation, so it is a great opportunity for the kids from a wide area to mix with each other. Children and young people from Year 3 upwards are encouraged to take part in the ministries. Our youngsters take part in welcoming, altar serving, reading, the offertory procession and we hope one day the music ministry! This can count towards schemes such as the Duke of Edinburgh awards.

We are part of Million Minutes Beacon Parishes to celebrate our young people and  accompany them as they journey through their life of faith.

And of course there are our primary and secondary faith schools and Sixth Form College.
